Single Visit Quadrant Direct Restorations - Case Review

Thanks to advancements in dental technology, regional dental treatments can now be performed with the aid of high magnification, photography, and rubber dam isolation. This enables teeth to be treated in fewer sessions. Along with a significant increase in treatment comfort, the quality of the procedures can be delivered at the highest level.

Light-cured composite fillings are used in modern dentistry to restore decayed teeth. In this case, the old restorations in the upper right posterior teeth were removed, and deep decay cavities were cleaned. All the teeth were restored with composite fillings in a single session.

Let’s examine the case in detail with professional photographs.

   •      Initial photo of the upper right region: Old fillings and decays were identified.
   •      Rubber dam isolation was applied.

   •      Decay was detected and cleaned using caries indicator agents.
   •      After cleaning was completed, extra isolation was achieved using Teflon tapes.

   •      Special matrix bands were used to restore the tooth anatomy to its original form.

   •      Contact points between teeth were created. It is particularly important to form convex contact points for optimal cleanability.

   •      The original anatomy was shaped with rough contours.

   •      Optional original brown effects were applied to the tooth surfaces.
   •      Final polishing procedures were completed.

   •      Occlusion control was performed.
   •      The gums are expected to become healthier within a week.

Final photographs were taken. The treatment was completed in 150 minutes during a single session.
